Dawn Hefley is the newly elected Treasury Officer for the Arkansas Association of Facility Managers. She began her career at the University of Arkansas , Facilities Management Department (formerly known as the Physical Plant) in August 1987 after moving from her home town Harrison , Arkansas.
She started as an Office Clerk and has been promoted to increasingly responsible positions. Dawn is now the Resources Manager for Facilities Management handling all personnel records, travel for all employees, payroll for the entire department, supervising accounting functions within the Resources area in addition to other duties.
Besides her full time position at Facilities Management, Dawn has raised a family of three children. Her son, Travis, works at the Facilities Management Service Center and is planning on attending the University of Arkansas this Fall. Her twin daughters, Keri and Teri will be juniors this Fall at Greenland High School.
In addition to the challenge of raising a family and working full time Dawn finds time for volunteer work at Greenland High School supporting the Cheerleading Squad, and filling in at the concession stand at school sports events.
On the light side, Dawn is the official manager of the departmental popcorn machine and her popularity increases substantially with the FAMA staff when she decides to fire up the popcorn machine for a late afternoon treat!
Throughout the years, Dawn has worked with Glenn Grippe in keeping the treasurer records for AAFA, providing treasurer reports, keeping financial documents, collecting registration fees, in support of Glenn during his years as the AFFA Treasurer. Glenn's decision to let another AAFA member pick up the mantle of AAFA Treasurer resulted in what was the obvious choice of Dawn as his replacement. The Spring 2008 Conference attendees agreed on her candidacy with a resounding YES! vote.
Thanks Dawn for your dedication to the continuing success of AAFA! |
