Maple Hill Residence Hall - north site

The new Maple Hill residence halls will be state-of-the-art additions to student housing on the north end of campus.

The new residence halls will add approximately 1,400 beds in double rooms with private bathrooms and other amenities like secure bicycle storage.

Windgate Galleries

This is the final building in the School of Art's Windgate Art and Design District located just south of campus off MLK Jr. Blvd.

Windgate 2 will be three stories and approximately 47,000 square feet, housing classroom and studio space as well as art galleries.

Maple Street Safety Improvement Project

As part of the national Safe Streets and Roads for All project, the University of Arkansas is teaming up with the City of Fayetteville to revamp Maple Street.

The project will establish improved crosswalks, updated driving lanes, greenspace along the road, new senior walks on both sidewalks, and the addition of a dedicated bicycle lane.

Fine Arts Center - Restoration
(Phase 1)

This project involved the restoration of the main lobby, classroom wing, and concert hall of the Fine Arts Center. The building, completed in 1951, was designed by Edward Durell Stone, an internationally-celebrated architect raised in Fayetteville.

It is the first modernist classroom building on campus. The restoration reopened the lobby, helping to reestablish Stone’s original design concept and saved other character-defining features like the steel ribbon windows.

Alpha Phi

The newest building in the Greek community at the University of Arkansas will be the Alpha Phi house, which will be located on the corner of Wilson Avenue and Maple Street.

The new house will be 39,770 square feet of premier living space, including rooms that will hold 94 beds, and will establish another first-class structure to the Greek houses on campus.

Mullins Library 1st and 2nd Floor Renovation

Over the course of five years, all four levels of the Mullins Library were reimagined to provide a prisitine study and working area in the heart of campus.

The renovation of Levels 1 and 2 offer a space for all. Visitors are greeted by sleek new furniture, private study rooms for focused work, convenient printing, new Special Collections spaces and an abundance of natural light, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere.

Anthony Timberlands Center for Design and Materials Innovation

Located at the northeast corner of the new Art & Design District, the Anthony Timberlands Center will provide the Fay Jones School of Architecture a space for timber and wood design graduate programs as well as an applied research center for wood innovation.

The Center will include approximately 50,000 SF of classroom, studio, conference, office, and fabrication space.

Institute for Integrative and Innovative Research (I3R)

This new campus research facility will serve as a home to the Institute for Integrative and Innovative Research (I3R). With a focus on convergence research, the building itself is designed and built to offer collaborative spaces and cross-cutting capabilities.

The facility is ~144,000 SF distributed across three floors, includes several laboratories and work spaces.

I³R uses a shared-use arrangement for all facilities and equipment, and all are housed in controlled-access areas.

HPER Second Floor Renovation

This project made significant improvements to the university's recreation center including adding turnstiles to the east and west entrances, office space for UREC staff, a dedicated plaza in front of the east entrance, and a complete renovation of the men's and women's locker rooms.

The fitness center was fully renovated to provide a more open concept directly from the corridor. The overall size of the workout areas was expanded, new equipment was installed, and studios for group workout classes were established and updated.

Storefront doors were added to the west entrance and the bridge by the east entrance was taken out for a more welcoming exterior.

MUSiC National Research Fabrication Facility

The University of Arkansas' Multi-User Silicon Carbide Facility (MUSiC) is the only openly-accessible fabrication facility of its kind in the U.S.

The facility features a state-of-the-art eight-bay cleanroom within a 22,000-square-foot building—one of the most advanced SiC research and prototyping environments in the nation.

It complements the UA Power Group’s vertically integrated research ecosystem — known for advancing technologies “from materials to systems.”
