HWY 112 Widening

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project widens Razorback Road north bound to two lanes. Razorback Road will be temporarily closed to through traffic from Meadow Street to Cleveland Street. Traffic will be routed east from Meadow Street to Stadium Drive until early July. From early July to mid-August, Maple Street will be closed from Garland to Razorback Road. 


Rose Hill Parking

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project expands parking between Lots 10, 78, and 78A between Whitham and Gregg Avenues, north of Maple Street. Parking lots 10, 78, and 78A will be inaccessible at different times during construction which is scheduled to begin in June. 


Grad Ed MEP Upgrade

Status: In Progress

Projected Completion: July 2019

Project includes replacing air handling units, transformers, and electrical switchgear as well as converting from steam heat to hot water. The entire Grad Ed building will be closed for two weeks during the beginning of June. Partial outage or other short duration outage is possible through the end of June. 


 Delta Gamma

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: July 2019

Project includes the construction of a new sorority house at the corner of Maple Street and Arkansas Avenue. A new parking lot at Reagan and Gregg should be completed this summer, and the sidewalk along the south side of Maple Street is scheduled to reopen in June. 


Pomfret Dining Renovation and Expansion

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project includes the renovation of the existing dining and great room areas in Pomfret Hall as well as the addition of a late night dining venue on the east side of the building. Landscaping and exterior seating is also included.


Pomfret D-Wing Renovation

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project renovates dorm rooms on all four floors.

Leroy Pond Extension

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project extends Leroy Pond across Razorback Road, will close access to Razorback Road at Nettleship, and reconfigures Lot 46 south of the Administrative Services Building (ADSB). Closure of Nettleship to Razorback Road will begin in May with a temporary drive access provided to the ADA spaces off Razorback Road. Nettleship Street, between Razorback Road to Graham Street, will be permanently closed to traffic.


Thomas Avenue Repairs

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: July 2019

Project adds drainage, curb and gutter, and widens Thomas Avenue on the west side. Lighting will also be added along Graham Avenue. Thomas Avenue will be closed to through traffic, and entry to Lot 73 is restricted from Thomas. Completion is estimated to be July 2019.


Old Main Exterior Restoration

Status: In Progress

Projected Completion: September 2019

Project includes restoring the trim on the east and north sides of Old Main. Scaffolding will be used. The work will visually impact Old main, and there is a potential for noise that may be mildly disruptive to occupants. Access to the building will be maintained.


Stadium Drive Residence Halls

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project includes the construction of a 708 bed dormitory at Stadium Drive and Leroy Pond.


Mullins Library Renovation

Status: Design

Projected Completion: Spring 2021

This project includes installing fire sprinklers and renovating the 3rd and 4th floors of Mullins Library. It will improve and modernize study and collaboration spaces expected in modern libraries. Demolition and abatement are expected to begin over the 2019 winter break. 

 

Student Success Center

Status: Design

Projected Completion: December 2021

Project includes the construction of a new facility south of Memorial Hall on the site of the existing School of Social Work. The School of Social Work will be temporarily moved to EJ Ball, and demolition of the School of Social Work building is expected to begin in July with construction beginning later this summer. ADA replacement spaces will be created south of the Study Abroad House.


Pat Walker Health Center

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: August 2019

Project includes the removal and replacement of the east side glass atrium. The sidewalk on the west side of Garland and one southbound lane from Maple Street to the north end of Pat Walker Health Center will be closed. Pat Walker will remain open, but disruption along the east side of the original building should be expected.


 ADPi Renovation and Addition

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: Summer 2020

Project includes renovation of the original house, razing the 1960's addition, and construction of a new addition on the north side of the building. 


Cleveland/Garland Threshold Signs

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project includes the construction of new campus entry threshold signs at the northern border to campus on Garland. Pedestrian traffic may be affected, but no traffic impacts are expected.


 Windgate Art and Design District Expansion

Status: Design

Projected Completion: Fall 2021

This project includes construction of a new facility for the School of Art that will consolidate several disciplines currently spread across campus. It will also support the planned expansion of students and faculty. The project will be constructed in the Art and Design district, on the southeast corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Hill Ave. Construction is scheduled to begin summer 2020.
