HWY 112 Widening

Status: Substantially Complete

Projected Completion: August 2019

Project widens Razorback Road north bound to two lanes and includes improvements to Razorback Road and Maple. All streets are now open and the new traffic signal at Razorback and Maple is operational. Landscaping and minor touch up work will continue until late August. 


Rose Hill Parking

Status: Substantially Complete

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project expands parking between Lots 10, 78, and 78A between Whitham and Gregg Avenues, north of Maple Street. All UA parking lots are open to faculty and staff as of August 19. Final touch-ups are still ongoing. Please note the new traffic pattern into Lot 10. The connection to Maple Street is now an entrance only. You may not exit from Lot 10 onto Maple Street. You must exit onto Whitham. 


Grad Ed MEP Upgrade

Status: Complete

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project includes replacing air handling units, transformers, and electrical switchgear as well as converting from steam heat to hot water. This project is complete.


 Delta Gamma

Status: Complete

Projected Completion: August 2019

Project includes the construction of a new sorority house at the corner of Maple Street and Arkansas Avenue. The Delta Gamma House is now open.


Pomfret Dining Renovation and Expansion

Status: Substantially Complete

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project includes the renovation of the existing dining and great room areas in Pomfret Hall as well as the addition of a late night dining venue on the east side of the building. Landscaping and exterior seating is also included. The new kitchen and dining hall in Pomfret is now open. Construction will continue on the late night dining addition and landscaping into September. 


Pomfret D-Wing Renovation

Status: Complete

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project renovates dorm rooms on all four floors.

Leroy Pond Extension

Status: Substantially Complete

Projected Completion: August 2019

Project extends Leroy Pond across Razorback Road, will close access to Razorback Road at Nettleship, and reconfigures Lot 46 south of the Administrative Services Building (ADSB). The parking lots and the new connection to Nettleship are open. Landscaping is still ongoing and will be complete by early September.


Upper Service Drive

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: August 2019

Upper Service Drive- beginning east of Gladson-Ripley Hall and ending south of Buchanan-Droke Hall- will be closed for road repairs and the addition of a pedestrian sidewalk, as well as steam line repairs. Paving is scheduled for the week of August 19 and will be complete by August 25. 


Thomas Avenue Repairs

Status: Complete

Projected Completion: August 2019

Project adds drainage, curb and gutter, and widens Thomas Avenue on the west side. Lighting will also be added along Graham Avenue. This project is now complete. 


Old Main Exterior Restoration

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: October 2019

Project includes restoring the trim on the east and north sides of Old Main. Scaffolding will be used. The work will visually impact Old Main, and there is a potential for noise that may be mildly disruptive to occupants. The work on the east side of Old Main is wrapping up. The scaffolding will come down beginning the week of August 19. Scaffolding will go up on the north side of Old Main as work continues. ADA access through the north entrance will be maintained. 


 Mullins Library Renovation

Status: Design

Projected Completion: Spring 2021

This project includes installing fire sprinklers and renovating the 3rd and 4th floors of Mullins Library. It will improve and modernize study and collaboration spaces expected in modern libraries. Demolition and abatement is expected to begin over the 2019 winter break. 

 

 

 

 

 

  

Student Success Center

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: December 2021

Project includes the construction of a new facility south of Memorial Hall on the site of the existing School of Social Work. The School of Social Work has been relocated to EJ Ball, and demolition of the School of Social Work building is expected to begin in September with construction beginning shortly after. ADA replacement spaces will be created south of the Study Abroad House.


Pat Walker Health Center

Status: Substantially Complete

Projected Completion: August 2019

Project includes the removal and replacement of the east side glass atrium. Pat Walker is open.


 ADPi Renovation and Addition

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: Summer 2020

Project includes renovation of the original house, razing the 1960's addition, and construction of a new addition on the north side of the building. 


Cleveland/Garland Threshold Signs

Status: Construction

Projected Completion: September 2019

Project includes the construction of new campus entry threshold signs at the northern border to campus on Garland. Pedestrian traffic may be affected, but no traffic impacts are expected.

The sign on the east side of Garland Avenue is substantially complete but work continues on the west side. 


 Adohi Hall (Stadium Drive Residence Halls)

Status: Substantially Complete

Projected Completion: Summer 2019

Project includes the construction of a 708 bed dormitory at Stadium Drive and Leroy Pond. Adohi, the new dormitory, is open to its first class of freshmen. Work will continue on landscaping and construction of a new parking lot on the east side of Stadium Drive, across from the new dorms. 


 Windgate Art and Design District Expansion

Status: Design

Projected Completion: Fall 2021

This project includes construction of a new facility for the School of Art that will consolidate several disciplines currently spread across campus. It will also support the planned expansion of students and faculty. The project will be constructed in the Art and Design district, on the southeast corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Hill Ave. Construction is scheduled to begin summer 2020.
