Awarded Contracts

Contract opportunities are awarded through either the RFP, RFQ, or low bid process.  Open contracts and projects are advertised through the Arkansas Democrat Gazette as well as posted on the RFQ listserv. Those wishing to work with Facilities Management and the University of Arkansas should sign up for RFQ notifications. 

Job order contracting

Job Order Contracting (JOCs) are awarded one year contracts with the option for up to three additional annual renewals through the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Those wishing to be notified of RFP opportunities, should sign up for the contractor listserv.

Construction projects up to $1,200,000* are awarded to one of the four JOCs. Subcontractors wishing to work with the University should contact the JOCs for potential job opportunities.

Bid Projects

Projects between $1,200,000* - $4,999,999 are awarded through the low bid process.  Invitations to bid are advertised in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette as well as through the RFQ listserv.  A pre-bid meeting will be held to discuss the project prior to bid date, instructions for time and location for bid opening will be included in the bid documents and plans will be made available.

Capital Projects

For projects estimated to cost $5million or more, architects and general contractors are selected through the request for qualifications (RFQ) process. Once responses are gathered, a selection committee will evaluate submitted statements of qualifications (SOQ), interview perspective organizations, and recommend a selection to the Board of Trustees who will then make the final decision. More information about this process can be found on the University of Arkansas System website.
